The Magic of Cruising in New Zealand
At the end of last year, I had the joy of cruising around New Zealand on Silversea’s Silver Nova. It was the perfect way to unwind before Christmas. Taking a deep breath as the year drew to a close felt refreshing. On board, we witnessed the enchanting tree-lighting ceremony. The ship was beautifully decorated and filled with festive spirit. Experiencing that holiday atmosphere while sailing in our own waters was truly magical.
If December feels too busy, consider travelling between January and March. It’s a wonderful way to recover from the “silly season” and enjoy a slice of your summer at sea.

An Unforgettable Experience Aboard Silver Nova
The Silver Nova is a recent addition to the Silversea portfolio. It boasts the nicest pool area I have seen at sea. With only 728 guests and one of the highest space-per-guest ratios, there’s plenty of room to relax. You can also connect with the mainly international passengers. It truly feels like you are on a holiday. Silversea guests are typically well-travelled and open to engaging with other guests. This adds another enriching dimension to the journey.

Explore New Destinations
Pop ashore and visit places you may not have seen before. You can wander at leisure or simply stay onboard and enjoy the facilities. Your butler will be your new best friend. Professionally trained, he or she will make your experience truly special. From caviar and champagne in your suite to popcorn for an in-cabin movie night, they think of everything. Your butler will even run you a bath—with bubbles, champagne, macarons, music, and a flickering candle (albeit a fake one). Pure bliss.

Dining and Entertainment Options
With 24-hour room service, a fully stocked bar, and countless dining and entertainment options, seven nights on board Silver Nova never feels quite long enough. The dining experience is exceptional, with a variety of cuisines to choose from. Whether you prefer casual dining or a more formal setting, there’s something for everyone.

Fewer Ships, More Opportunities
There will be fewer ships visiting New Zealand this summer, perhaps down by as much as 30%. If you want to be one of the lucky passengers onboard, I can advise which ships are coming and details of their itineraries. The Silversea Silver Nova New Zealand cruise is one I would highly recommend.

Take Advantage of Cruise Month
And don’t forget—October is Cruise Month, the perfect time to take advantage of exclusive offers and start planning your next journey at sea.
Safe travels and may your next voyage be as memorable as mine. I’d love to hear your thoughts or questions—feel free to share them in the comments below.
