Rwanda: Into the Mist - The Journey Begins

I’ve just arrived in Rwanda — a destination I’ve long been drawn to, inspired in part by Gorillas in the Mist and its powerful story of conservation and connection.

This journey will take me from Kigali to Akagera National Park and onto Volcanoes National Park — experiencing the landscapes, wildlife, and people that make Rwanda so remarkable.

Travelling with Wilderness

Throughout this journey, I’m travelling with Wilderness, staying at their lodges and camps and visiting their reserves.

From Wilderness Magashi Camp in Akagera to Bisate Lodge in the volcanoes, this is an opportunity to experience Rwanda through a lens of thoughtful, conservation-led travel.

I’m particularly looking forward to learning more about the work Wilderness is doing — not only in protecting wildlife, but in supporting communities and preserving these extraordinary environments for the future.
